Annapolis Sons of Liberty Week: Freedom of the Press: Then and NowDate: October 19, 2015 Location: James Brice House Conference Room, 42 East Street Time: 6:30pm LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR Senior historian Glenn Campbell will discuss Jonas Green’s “expiring” Maryland Gazette of the period. A panel discussion with working journalists, educators and watchdogs on the evolution and current state of press freedom will follow, led by moderator Jennifer Bevan-Dangel, executive director of Common Cause Maryland. Panelists include: Rick Hutzell, editor, Capital-Gazette Communications; Tom Marquardt, former editor and publisher, Capital-Gazette Communications, and syndicated columnist; Lucy Dalglish, dean, Philip Merrill College of Journalism, University of Maryland, and former executive director for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press; and Robert Ruby, director of communications, Freedom House, Washington D.C., and former foreign editor, Baltimore Sun.
