Historic Property Research Workshop

Location: James Brice House Conference Room, 42 East Street

Time: 9 am - 11 am

Led by Dr. Jean Russo, Historic Annapolis Consulting Historian, this research workshop will introduce participants to the techniques and sources needed to research the history of a property. Following a one-hour tutorial and case study, participants will have an opportunity to review various source materials and historic maps. Bring a laptop or tablet should you like to get started on researching your property. Participants can also take digital images of Annapolis Sanborn maps dating from the 1930s with 1959 paste-ups. While the focus will be primarily on properties within the historic district, many of the same or comparable records can be used to research properties elsewhere in Anne Arundel County.

Reservations required.

Cost: Free for Preservation Circle Members, $20 for HA Members and Volunteers, $25 for Non-Members. Fee includes an Annapolis Building History Manual.
