The Comic Life and Tragic Death of the Homony ClubDate: Wednesday, February 27, 2019 Location: William Paca House and Garden, 186 Prince George Street Time: 10 am - 12 pm The Homony Club met in Annapolis on the eve of the American Revolution, and its participants included prominent men who ended up on opposite sides in that historic conflict. Although it has often been dismissed as a purely social group, in actuality the Homony Club provided a rare forum where partisan opponents could meet on safe ground even as their political world fractured. Senior Historian Glenn E. Campbell reveals why Rev. Jonathan Boucher called the Homony Club “the best club in all respects I have ever heard of…[until] the troubles began and put an end to everything that was pleasant and proper.” Cost: Free for HA Docents and Docents-in-Training; $5 HA Members and Volunteers; $10 General Admission
