Interested in getting involved with HA as a volunteer? Not sure where to start? You are invited to drop by our Volunteer Open House. Meet some of our current volunteers and staff, enjoy beverages and light fare, and learn how you can use your skills and passion to give back to your local community. Share the history of Annapolis with the community around you, make new friends, and volunteer in your own backyard!

Join our team of over 330 volunteers who contribute more than 9,000 hours annually at our historic sites in support of HA’s mission. From museum docents to event assistance, HA relies heavily on the talents and time of our volunteers to support the museum operations with guided tours, beautify our garden, grow plants for our annual plant sale, and facilitate our public programs. With the addition of the Museum of Historic Annapolis and the expansion of our group tours and field trips at our sites, we are enthusiastic to welcome new volunteers to our team to grow our offerings and shape our community.

Our volunteers are the foundation of Historic Annapolis.  It is their dedication and passion for the HA mission that continues to advance the connection to the community and our visitors.  Local residents interested in history, gardening, and continuing education will find great options for involvement with various levels of commitment. HA has meaningful opportunities for everyone!
