Hogshead Living History: U.S. Colored Troops in the Civil War

Come meet the United States Colored Troops (USCT), Union Army regiments during the U.S. Civil War that were primarily comprised of African Americans.

Volunteer members of Company B  will share their in-depth understanding of the Civil War era through performing demonstrations of camp life, military service and general values of the Black Civil War soldier.

Cost:$5 General Admission; Free for HA Members, Military, and Children 17 and under

About Our Presenters: Members of this Company, comprised of both professional and amateur historians, are dedicated to preserving the history of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment and Black Soldiers in the Civil War. We serve as a living monument to commemorate and honor the men who served, lost their lives and health in the Civil War, particularly those members of our namesake, the 54th Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. We strive to have the 54th Massachusetts bring history to life as accurately and authentically as possible so that people that come to see us will gain a better understanding and appreciation of their heritage and history.
