Annapolis gathers to celebrate historic milestone

Loni Moyer accepted a "preservation pioneer" award on behalf of her father, the late Annapolis Mayor Roger "Pip" Moyer, during a historic preservation gathering Tuesday afternoon.
"It really is an affirmation of his legacy," Moyer said. "Without that vision we would just be another town with generic hotels and buildings. It wouldn't be special. It would only be special on the pages of a history book not in real life."
Moyer was part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Colonial Annapolis National Historic Landmark District, which included a luncheon and a rededication of the National Historic
Landmark plaque at the James Brice House.
