During the storied Golden Age of Annapolis, the colonial capital was home to an array of social clubs frequented by some of the city’s most interesting and influential men. Two of the most significant groups, the Tuesday Club and the Homony Club, kept voluminous records that allow us see and hear what went on at their convivial gatherings behind closed doors. Senior Historian Glenn E. Campbell shares his insights into two elite clubs that thrived at the beginning and end of colonial Annapolis’s cultural prime.
